Workshop-4Clover Autos are equipped with a modern VOSA light vehicle (class IV) government approved testing station and can perform any repair work necessary to ensure that your vehicle passes the test. All MOT testing is carried out by Skilled Technicians at our Essex centre.

A MOT test is an annual test of vehicle safety which takes into consideration roadworthiness and emissions. It is a legal requirement, a fine of up to £1,000 can be levied and a vehicle possibly impounded if it’s found to have an invalid MOT certificate.

In 2003 we launched the MOT testing service with the latest equipment. We are certified by the government department for carrying out the MOT testing. Our test station is classified as class IV grade which indicates we can carry out testing for:-

  • All makes of cars
  • Caravans
  • Most standard light goods vehicles

When Should I Book my MOT?

Your car becomes eligible for its first MOT when it is 3 years old. Our service centre has been authorised by VOSA which is a government agency that supervises the MOT scheme. You may not be aware, but it is possible to MOT your vehicle up to one calendar month prior to the current certificate expiry without losing any of the unexpired time. What this can mean is that if for any reason your vehicle should fail its MOT, then your existing MOT is still valid.

Class IV grade MOT Testing StationIf required, we repair your vehicle at our workshop and ensure that it passes all the standard tests. Upon successful completion you will be provided with an MOT certificate indicating test results.

MOT stands for ministry of transport test which indicates that a vehicle possesses the minimum acceptable road safety and environmental standards. This test is required once the vehicle is 3 years old. It’s an offence in the UK to drive a vehicle on the road without a valid MOT certificate. This can also void your insurance and you may be liable to legal action.

It is the owner’s responsibility to check their vehicle condition at regular intervals and keep them in a roadworthy condition.
